About Us
Friends of Edenbridge and Westerham Citizens Advice was set up as a separate charity in November 1999 to raise money for the local bureau, as it was known then. It has raised thousands of pounds and has funded the rental and maintenance of the photocopier, purchased a new phone system, computers and IT consultancy and a range of office equipment.
Local Citizens Advice services throughout the country are not fully funded by either central or local government and rely on the support of Friends to keep services open for the local community.
Citizens Advice Edenbridge and Westerham is run by paid staff supported by volunteers who help hundreds of residents, making a real difference to people’s lives and, in turn, the economic and social health of its communities.
This support is even more vital today with the onset of Covid-19 creating so many problems for individuals and families who are struggling to pay bills, have become unemployed, threatened with eviction, suffer with poor mental or physical health or are dealing with a relationship breakdown including domestic abuse.
